ANZAC Day Resource Pack / CD
ANZAC Day Resource Pack
Every year on the 25th April, New Zealanders and Australians have a special holiday. The holiday is named ANZAC Day, and it is held to remember all New Zealand and Australian soldiers who have died in wars overseas.

The soldiers who died are remembered on the 25th of April because that was the day in 1915, when soldiers of the ‘Australian and New Zealand Army Corps’ (ANZAC’s) landed on the Gallipoli Peninsula and under British command attacked the army of Turkey.

Anzac Day is closely linked to the war that the ANZAC's were involved in at Gallipoli, but these days Anzac Day is held to remember all New Zealand and Australian soldiers that were killed in all wars. This day is so important that it has been made a public holiday in both New Zealand and Australia.

On this day all around New Zealand and Australia (and even at Gallipoli) there are ‘Dawn Parades’ which many New Zealanders and Australians attend, especially the ‘Returned Service Men’ (RSA) who fought in these wars and returned home afterwards. The number of these important people becomes less and less each year. These parades are often held at a local ‘War Memorials’ where people are able to pay their respects, lay wreathes onto the monuments, place their poppies, listen to speeches and generally thinking about the soldiers that have died fighting for our country.

It is extremely important for New Zealanders and Australians to understand and appreciate the sacrifices that were made by all those who were killed fighting for their country. These men and women fought for the freedom that we all enjoy today.

This resource is available as a printed Pack or on CD-ROM. The cost is $35 (Incl P&P) per Pack or CD, or $55 for Pack and CD-ROM.
