A toy is an object that provides fun and amusement.
Dolls of various shapes and sizes and matchbox cars are good examples of toys. So are rattles, pull toys, music boxes, puzzles, noisemakers, and many other familiar objects.
Present day toys are made out of a variety of materials, such as wood, metal, rubber and plastics.
Most interactive toys now days are made out of high tech plastic.
Technology has advanced so much that most toys of the future will contain microchips and toys will behave more like humans.
Once upon a time toys would have been considered high tech if they contained a bell or noisemaker.
These days technology has taken over and there is a chip inside many of the most popular toys on the market.
Technology is influencing every aspect of the toy industry whether it’s the toys themselves, the design, the manufacturing or production.
Most recent popular high tech toys include features such as voice activation, wireless communication and robotics.
However, children really enjoy using their imaginations and creative skills in designing and making their own toy out of available resources around the home.
Nothing is more satisfying than playing with something you have made yourself!
This resource is available as a printed Pack or on CD-ROM. The cost is $35 (Incl P&P) per Pack or CD, or $55 for Pack and CD-ROM.
